God Stories
August 14, 2009
One of the nicest compliments I think I receive is when someone tells me I have encouraged them. I volunteer at a clinic and one of my "duties" is to minister to patients. There are so many hurting people in this world. Not necessarily from disease or illness, but from issues they are faced with everyday. It may be financial or emotional. Most times people are lonely and have no one to talk to. No one who seems to be there to listen to them. One day I left South Florida Community College, fully intending to go the the book store, further south. I turned south at the light and "that little voice in my head" said you need to go home. I called my husband to tell him I was on my way, but wanted to go to the book store first. He said, "I hoped we could have lunch together". I went to the next turn around and headed home. I parked in the driveway and came inside where he was waiting. He had put Bailey, our little West Highland Terrier, in the kennel. I said, "Oh, I thought we were just driving through somewhere and picking up lunch and then going to the park to eat and Bailey could come too." He nodded, since neither of us likes leaving him. We headed South again and he asked me what I was hungry for. We decided and I mentioned that I needed to go to the book store first. We pulled in the parking lot, I got out to pick up the book I needed and he took Bailey for a little walk while they waited for me. When I came back outside my husband was talking to a lady, who was squatted down loving Bailey. My husband motioned for me to come over to where they were. When I approached the lady, I smiled at her. She looked up at me with tears in her eyes. She said "I had to give my Westie up." She went on to tell us about her husbands Parkinson's and she is the care giver. She had been sitting in her car. When she saw my husband get out with Bailey she said she had to come over to love Bailey. We talked for a little while and then prayed together. That precious lady has become my friend. But it was because of God's wonderful timing that we met. I lisented to His voice that morning. I pray that I can be a blessing to someone everyday. You can do that too. All you have to do is listen to His voice. I would love to hear how God has worked in your life. Send me your "God Story". I can't wait to hear from you
