Welcome Spring
March 24, 2009
As a child and even as a young adult, Spring had a different meaning. It meant Summer was coming. No more school, or getting up early to ride the bus. I remember thinking, early one morning, how lucky I was to be a girl. My Mother was a stay at home Mom. My Dad worked two jobs. He was a supervisor at a telephone company and also a farmer. I used to think it was great being born a girl. I wouldn't have to work two jobs. I could sleep late, watch lots of tv, ride my bike whenever I felt like it and also stay up late. Little did I know. It was almost the same revelation my son had when he joined the Army. He wanted to take some of my favorite recipies in case he didn't like the food they prepared. He was also tired of me constantly telling him what to do. Life doesn't always turn out exactly as we planned. In other words sometimes we envision things a little differently than they actually are. Wouldn't it be great if we lived in a world where everyone got along. Where everyone was kind to their neighbor? We can all do our part. Hug someone today. Tell them you love them. Hug yourself, and know it's from me. God Bless you today.
